Join us for this 5th anniversary celebration of Y-PLAN Japan on Sunday, August 7th at Andersen Auditorium, UC Berkeley! The TOMODACHI program seeks to build U.S. Japanese relations and offer relief to residents of Japan directly affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake and tsunami in 2011. Y-PLAN Japan was launched with the TOMODACHI Softbank Leadership Program at UC Berkeley in 2012. To date, 700 students from Japan’s Tohoku region have participated in this exciting program committed to revitalizing their home communities.

This evening celebration welcomes past participants, partners, host families, and others seeking to:

  • Learn about TOMODACHI youth accomplishments since 2012
  • Meet 2016 program participants
  • Engage with Japanese and American youth leaders

This event was made possible by the generous support of the UC Center for Japanese Studies and Umami Mart.
